Valentine's Day Doesn't Have To Be Dumb

Updated: Jan 27, 2021

If there's one holiday that's most controversial, it's definitely Valentine's Day. I feel like people either love it and live for the hearts and sparkles, or they hate it and refuse to acknowledge its existence until February 15th, when all the candy goes on sale (me). Here are some gift ideas that are actually thoughtful and cool without being too cheesy. Let us know what you think! Make sure you check out our customizable Valentine printouts here!

Small shops have *** next to the description.

For Partners:

Love Poems for Married People

"I honor you and our love but I also lost track of time at a bar with my coworkers" These poems are hilarious and real. Give it with a bottle of wine and spend a fun night reading and laughing over these together. (Also look for Love Poems for People with Children and Love Poems for Anxious People)

Matching Undies

Everyone wears underwear (right?), why not have matching heart undies with your partner?

Fondue Pot

This is one of my very favorite stay home date nights. In this electric fondue pot you can make chocolate fondue or even cheese fondue (check out our recipe tab!). It feels fancy with minimal effort, and I'm pretty sure it's a proven fact that literally every human in the world likes fondue.

What I Love About Us | Things I Love About You

These books are filled with prompts that make it easy to tell your partner what you love about them, and about your relationship together. This is one of those keepsake gifts that will be re-read and loved for a very long time.

100 Movies Scratch Off Poster

The gift of 100 date nights! A scratch off bucket list of all the best movies that everyone needs to see at least once. The perfect "I can't believe we still can't go on a real date to the movie theater" gift.

Date Night Box ***

These date night boxes are amazing. You can choose different subscription options and all are less than $40. Each box comes with everything you need for a fun and creative date night. There's also a "family night" option that has an activity for the whole family to enjoy!

Homesick Candle***

Have you and your partner been on a special vacation together that you would love to be reminded of? Homesick Candles has candles inspired by hundreds of different places and would be such a cute gift reminder of the vacation spot you can't wait to revisit!

For Kids:

Red and Pink Play Dough Kit ***

I am so in love with everything about this kit from @happylifemagicshop ! It comes with silicone cupcake liners, a wooden rolling pin, and tons of adorable little add-ins so that you can make "cupcakes" with your kids over and over again! Leave comment "cake" at checkout for 15% off!

Love From The Crayons

We love this book! It's all about love and all the different ways love looks. It's simple and cute and all my kids love it.

Little Blue Truck Valentine

I love all the Little Blue Truck books, but this one is particularly adorable. LBT makes special valentines for each of his friends. A fan favorite around here!

How To Draw Cute Stuff for Kids

This would be such a fun gift to give your child and then draw little valentines for friends and family members together. The step by step directions make it easy and fun to learn to draw cute doodles.

Glo Pals

So these are water activated light cubes for the bath. I literally can't think of anything that would be more cool. Fun little valentine that's affordable and won't clutter up your house.

***Heart Lacing Boards

Lacing boards are the toy I never knew I needed so much. They are great for ages 3-7+. Builds fine motor function and is a "craft" type thing they can play over and over. And the best part is that they're quiet!

Valentine's Rainbow Stacker ***

Our rainbow stacker is one of our most played with toys! @learningsafarisensory has tons of cute red and pink themed wooden sets along with sensory bins galore! Use code sensory10 at checkout for a 10% discount!

***Valentine's Day Activity Printables

This pack comes with tic tac toe and a matching game, along with color matching, letter recognition, and writing practice. Great for preschool-kindergarten ages and especially if you're doing homeschool this year! There's a flash sale this weekend for 10% off!

Valentine Printables!

Lauren made these ADORABLE printable valentines. They are all gender neutral and not weirdly kissy and lovey, so they're perfect for kids and even pun-loving adults (me). Print them for free here. Leave your email in the "mailing list" box below with the comment "valentines" for personalization options!
